Nicolas Gabriel
Nicolas has an extensive professional background characterised by various roles and achievements in the logistics, maritime and marine cargo surveying industries. He began his career as a freight forwarding clerk, where he honed his skills in the German dual system. Nicolas worked as a freight forwarding clerk and specialised in the dispatching of long-haul trucks and heavy lift shipments. He studied business administration in the fields of logistics, materials management and supply chain management at the German Foreign Trade and Transport Academy in Bremen. He then obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Oxford Brookes University with honours. Nicolas has been an integral part of the Battermann & Tillery Group since 2002, where he became a member of the management board in 2012. He took over responsibility for the international business, a position he has held since 2004. Nicolas built up the international surveying business of BTGM and leads a team of +50 experts. He is network Manager of the TMN Survey Group, the leading cargo survey network with a global reach. His achievements include the completion of more than 12,500 survey reports. In addition to his practical contributions, Nicolas has also made significant academic contributions to the field, as evidenced by the articles and presentations he has authored. Of particular note are his article ‘ISPM 15 – Background and Challenges’ and his successful webinars on transport packaging, load securing and flexitank transport, which have been attended by thousands of professionals.
