Scott Brown

Scott Brown is VP, Client Relations, and Services at NCB; a not-for-profit marine surveying company whose mission is “Safety of Life and Cargo at Sea”.  Mr. Brown’s role includes managing key client relations and furthering the mission of the Bureau through the development and delivery of responsive, high quality maritime safety and loss prevention services covering the supply chain “warehouse to warehouse”.

Mr. Brown’s maritime career spans over 35 years and includes the management of a global marine risk consulting team for a large insurer, a prior stint with NCB in various surveying and management roles; time at sea serving as a deck officer on general cargo, container, LASH, and tanker vessels; as well as service as a US Naval Flight Officer aboard the P3C-Orion (ASW) aircraft.  Mr. Brown has also presented on numerous topics, served on various USCG Advisory Committees, and played an active role with industry groups over the course of his career including IANA, TAPA Americas, and AIMU.

Mr. Brown possesses a B.S. degree in Marine Transportation from the US Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY, and a Post Graduate degree in Marine Insurance from the World Maritime University in Malmo, Sweden.
